The sources of energy can be defined as the reference or point from which an energy comes from or originates. These sources can be of many types. Such as Electrical Energy can be produces by Kinetic energy provided by Hydropower. In this, water is the source of energy. So, if we use solar panels for energy generation, the source of energy is the sun. It means that, source of energy is the point or thing from where the energy starts or originates.

This is the energy that is restored by the nature with passing time. It is the natural energy that is restored at higher rate than the rate at which it is consumed. It can be used again and again because it is always available.

Renewable energy is available in unlimited or abundant quantity.
Its maintenance cost is higher than non-renewable energy.
This energy generation is completely sustainable in nature.
The production cost of renewable energy is lower and convenient than Non-renewable ones.
Its production quantity is higher than other types of energy.
Example: Solar Energy, Wind Energy, Geothermal Energy etc.

Non-renewable Energy:
This is the type of energy that is not restored by the nature and finishes with time and use.
We cannot use them again and again so its only used once.
This energy produces air pollution and GHGs that pollutes the environment.
Non-renewable energy is present in limited quantity and is not always available.
The maintenance cost of this energy is lower than the renewable energy.
This energy generation is highly non-sustainable in nature as it utilizes the limited resources and also deteriorates the quality of environment.
Its production cost is higher than the renewable sources of energy.
The production quantity is lower than other sustainable types of energy.
Example: Fossil Fuels, Natural Gas, Oil etc.

The sources from where renewable energy comes from, refers as Renewable Energy sources. These sources are natural because they are immediately restores by the nature. i. Wind Energy:
This energy is from the wind or air that is naturally found in our environment. This air can help us to run the turbines and generate energy from the movement of turbine. In this type, the kinetic energy from the wind converts into electrical energy to produce huge amount of electricity. It is the lowest-cost electricity production technique available today. We can install wind turbines at the location with high speed wind throughout the year and produce huge amounts of electricity with the help of wind energy.
ii. Solar Energy:
Solar Energy is the energy we get from the sunlight. Science has progressed a lot in the field of utilizing solar energy. There are solar panels that can produce electricity in your homes or buildings just by installing them on the roof, to make it energy efficient Green Building. The modern technology is introducing transparent solar panels that we can use as a window in near future. We can install solar panels at desired places to lower the Electricity costs and bills and help you to adopt sustainable way to generate energy for your use.
iii. Bioenergy:
This is clear from its name, as it uses living material and organic matter for the production of electricity. We can utilize this energy by burning of biomass for industrial purposes instead of burning fossil fuels that emits a large concentration of GHGs. Biomass is renewable as it restores by natural systems and is sustainable because its carbon emissions and air pollution is negligible as compared to fossil fuels or wood burning. Bioenergy is very useful and is available in abundance.
iv. Hydropower:
Hydropower is the energy that we consume from the high flowrate of water. For the generation of this energy, huge water reservoirs or dams are established. These dams helps in rainwater harvesting at the places where there is a lot of rainfall throughout the year. Dams have huge gates that are closed when water is stored. When we open the gates of the dam, the water comes down from the slope with high speed, this creates kinetic energy and runs the turbines to generate electricity. There are negligible carbon emissions in this power generation and in this kinetic energy converts into mechanical energy to run the turbine, and then mechanical energy turns into electrical energy at the end.
v. Geothermal Energy:
It is the form of heat energy that is present in the Earth. This energy is harvested and utilized to provide heat to different industrial purposes. Geothermal energy is the natural ability of earth in the form of heat, that provide assistance in energy generation. This energy may be in the form of hot water reservoirs in the depth of the earth’s surface. Geothermal energy is form by radioactive decay of materials of the earth’s crust. It is a renewable system of Earth and facilitates us in many applications either commercial and industrial processes.
vi. Ocean Energy:
Ocean energy is the energy by the ocean movement and ocean tides. Machinery and specialized devices are installed on the surface of water in order to consume the energy. The kinetic energy that produces from the ocean tides and movements, converts into mechanical energy to run the turbine and then produce electricity. We can use this technique to generate electricity, but most of the people are not aware of these new technologies regarding ocean energy. We should educate people about how we can utilize the energy from ocean tides and movement.

Renewable energy sources should be on top because they are cost-effective as compared to non-renewable energy sources. In this way, most of the energy produces from a little raw material with reliable and suitable production cost.

Renewable energy contributes in creating decent jobs for most of the people especially women. It helps in maintaining the economy as well as providing energy for the people. This energy production provides many facilities to the public.
. Does not harm Human Health:
As we all know, the non-renewable energy sources produce toxic by products such as CO2 emissions, toxic chemicals and GHGs as the result of energy production. While renewable energy does not create such harmful products and does not harm human health in any way.
