What is Painting?

Acrylic Painting:

The paints Acrylics are fast drying paints. These are by pigment suspended in acrylic emulsions, plasticizers, silicon oil, stabilizers etc. Most of the acrylic paints are water-based and become water-resistant when they are dried out.

Watercolor Painting:

These paints are in water containing form and we apply them in the paintings with the help of water. Landscape painters mostly use these paints. Artists use brushes to apply watercolor paints in their paintings.

Gouache Painting:

These paintings are made with opaque form of water colors and they have high pigment load and a matte finish. It results in more pigmented and vibrant colors as compared to water colors.

Abstract Painting / Art:

This type of Art or painting does not show normal things and concepts in the painting, but uses visual language of shape, color, form or line to deliver a message or draw some object. It is not recognizable and non-realistic, it is difficult to understand.

Impressionism:

It is the Art that uses small brush strokes to create a big art piece or painting. This art depicts the open composition and accurate depiction of lights with its changing qualities. It is also an old way of painting that evolved in 19th Century.

Pastel Painting:

This is a kind of dry painting that uses pastels to draw. Pastel paints are popular because they offers a wide range of tones and values with a single color. Their stick shape and lack of dry time, made it popular in 16th Century.

What is Light Painting?

Light painting is the art of creating paintings with lights with the help of Photography. In this we take many photos and then connect these photos to present as a painting.

Light painting is difficult as compared to ordinary painting on the paper. It needs perfection and a lot of effort. We can prefect some image, any message, digits or diagram with the help of light painting.

In 1889, Eteinne-Jules Marey and Gorges Demeny traced human motion for the first time in the first light painting called “Pathological Walk from the front” so the evidences suggest that here light painting was started.

After this many photographers started making light paintings frequently and they start to amaze people and attract them towards light painting. Light painting gained popularity in 21st Century, due to availability of DSLR cameras and high definition equipment for photography.

i. Camera:

As we all know we cannot capture pictures without a camera. We create Light Painting with a bunch of accurate pictures by a camera. So, the first and most important tool for light painting is a Camera.

ii. Tripod:

The camera should be at a still location to achieve the accurate requirements of a light painting. So, a tripod is much needed to draw an amazing light painting. Having a tripod will make it possible to capture an amazing light painting.

iii. A remote Shutter Release:

Either utilize a link discharge or a remote screen delivery to start your openness. 1.Projector Light Painting:

We create this type of light painting by waving a light translucent flash diffuser in the light path of of a portable projector, the continuous motion creates an invisible screen in the air for projected image.

2.Kinetic Light Painting:

Kinetic light painting is the antithesis of the traditional photography. At night or in a dark room, the camera is as a paint brush to draw images on the darkness. It is kinetic because image that produce is because of motion of the camera.

3.Webcam Light Painting:

Webcam helps us to project image with light. This is a cheap way to create a light painting so in this type, an image or photograph that project to the uneven surfaces to portray them as light paintings.

4.Using Handheld Light:

Another technique for light painting is using handheld light to illuminate certain structures and surfaces in the photograph. This creates a photograph as well as a light painting by using handheld light efficiently.
